JHER is committed to transparency in all matters relating to publication fees and charges. Authors are advised to consult the current journal fee policy before submitting a manuscript or returning a revised version.
Current Position
At the time of publication of this policy page, the journal may operate one of the following models, subject to the decision of the journal owner or editorial management:
- no submission fee and no article processing charge;
- a review or administrative handling fee;
- an article processing charge payable only after acceptance; or
- a hybrid arrangement approved by the journal.
Official Fee Notice
Where fees apply, the exact amount, payment stage, acceptable payment channel, and any exemptions or waivers shall be stated clearly by the journal through an official notice on the website and/or direct communication from the editorial office.
Important Safeguard
Payment of any fee does not guarantee acceptance of a manuscript. Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, policy compliance, and peer review outcomes.
Waivers and Special Consideration
The journal may consider partial or full waivers in deserving cases, particularly where an author demonstrates genuine financial constraint or where an institutional sponsorship arrangement applies. Any waiver request should be made formally to the editorial office.
Refunds
Except where the journal publishes a contrary written policy, fees paid for editorial processing are generally non-refundable once substantive editorial or administrative work has commenced.
Authors are strongly advised not to make any payment to any individual account or unofficial channel. Payments, where applicable, should only be made through the journal’s approved process and acknowledged by the editorial office.
