Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the challenges of teaching and
learning of entrepreneurship education in Clothing and Textiles in Tertiary
Institutions in Rivers State. The study adopted a survey research design.
The study was guided by three research questions. A sample of 400 students
taking courses in clothing and textiles in tertiary institutions involved in the
study, were randomly selected and used for the study. Data was collected
through a questionnaire and analyzed using mean scores. The findings
revealed 5 problems such as negative attitudes of students, inadequate
qualified teachers, inadequate time/instructional materials and poor
admission requirements. To reduce these problems, it is important that
adequate qualified teachers, sufficient time and materials are employed in
the teaching and learning of entrepreneurship education in Clothing and
Textiles.
